What is the E-3 visa?
The E-3 visa (officially the «Specialty Occupation Professionals from Australia» classification) is an employment visa category reserved for Australian Citizens in specialty occupations.
What is a specialty occupation?
- A specialty occupation is an occupation where the minimum qualification for entry is generally a bachelor’s degree in a specific field of study (e.g. a degree in an engineering discipline would be required for an engineering role, or a degree in construction management or a similar discipline would be required for a construction project manager role).
- Applicants without the required bachelor’s degree can qualify based on 12 years of relevant work experience.
What are the eligibility requirements?
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in a field that is related to the role in question (e.g. an electrical engineering position would require a degree in a related engineering discipline)

The employer must agree to pay the employee the prevailing wage for the role, which is determined with reference to the occupational classification, geographical location & level of seniorirty.

The applicant must not be inadmissible to the United States of America.
