What is the E-3 visa?

The E-3 visa (officially the «Specialty Occupation Professionals from Australia» classification) is an employment visa category reserved for Australian Citizens in specialty occupations.

What is a specialty occupation?

  • A specialty occupation is an occupation where the minimum qualification for entry is generally a bachelor’s degree in a specific field of study (e.g. a degree in an engineering discipline would be required for an engineering role, or a degree in construction management or a similar discipline would be required for a construction project manager role).

  • Applicants without the required bachelor’s degree can qualify based on 12 years of relevant work experience.

What are the eligibility requirements?

The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in a field that is related to the role in question (e.g. an electrical engineering position would require a degree in a related engineering discipline)

Those without a Bachelor’s degree can qualify based on 12 years of relevant work experience. 

The applicant must have a job offer in the USA (that’s where we come in).

The employer must agree to pay the employee the prevailing wage for the role, which is determined with reference to the occupational classification, geographical location & level of seniorirty.

The applicant must be an Australian citizen (unfortunately citizens of other countries who have Australian permanent residence do not qualify).

The applicant must not be inadmissible to the United States of America.

What is the H-1B Visa?

The H-1B visa program enables U.S. employers to sponsor foreign workers for employment in specialty occupations in the United States.
